چکیده

The purpose of the study is to elucidate interrelationships and notable correlations among indicators hormonal regulation, immune status, markers neurodegeneration in patients diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis. enrolled a total 170 thyroiditis (divided subclinical manifest form). Control group consist 65 people without thyroid pathologies or other diseases. examination cytokine profiles revealed significant increase levels groups forms disease compared control group. analysis antibody different clinical hypothyroidism that median concentration Ab-nDNA was significantly higher form those According an assessment neuron-spesific enolase blood plasma Furthermore, examining individuals had statistically (p=0.042) value this parameter. Our results changes immunological parameters alongside imbalance.

Immune-Neuroendocrine Interactions and Autoimmune Diseases

The relationship between immune-neuroendocrine system is firmly established. The messengers of this connection are hormones, neuropeptides, neurotransmitters and cytokines. The immune-neuroendocrine system have the capacity to synthesize and release these molecules, which, in turn, can stimulate or suppress the activity of immune or neuroendocrine cells by binding to receptors. In fact, hormone...

Autoimmune Thyroiditis and Glomerulopathies

Autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) is generally associated with hypothyroidism. It affects ~2% of the female population and 0.2% of the male population. The evidence of thyroid function- and thyroid autoantibody-unrelated microproteinuria in almost half of patients with AIT and sometimes heavy proteinuria as in the nephrotic syndrome point to a link of AIT with renal disease. The most common renal di...

Autoimmune Thyroiditis in Childhood

Autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) is the most common thyroid disorder in the pediatric age range. The disease results from an as yet poorly characterized defect or defects in immunoregulation and a cascade of events progressing from lymphocyte infiltration of the thyroid, to T-cell- and cytokine-mediated thyroid follicular cell injury, and apoptotic cell death. Approximately 70% of disease risk has ...

Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and Autoimmune Gastritis

The term "thyrogastric syndrome" defines the association between autoimmune thyroid disease and chronic autoimmune gastritis (CAG), and it was first described in the early 1960s. More recently, this association has been included in polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type IIIb, in which autoimmune thyroiditis represents the pivotal disorder. Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is the most frequent autoi...

Selenium Status in Autoimmune Thyroiditis.

UNLABELLED Selenium (Se) is an important element that exerts its effects through selenoproteins. The thyroid gland has the highest Se concentration and specific selenoprotein enzymes families are crucial in the thyroid hormone metabolism. There is little evidence on the link between Se and thyroid autoimmune disease, therefore future studies are required to elucidate the nature of this associ a...
